CurryMate ("CurryMate", "we", "us") helps you turn the ingredients you already have into Indian home recipes, plan meals, and reduce food waste. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions: support@currymate.in.

To generate and personalise recipes and meal plans; to run pantry, expiry-alert and receipt-scan features; to operate subscriptions; to send notifications you enable; to maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with law; and to diagnose and improve the service. On the free tier we show ads via Google AdMob (see Section 3); Premium removes them. We do not sell your personal information.
We share the minimum data needed with providers who process it on our behalf:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase | Authentication and push notifications (FCM) |
| OpenAI | Generating recipe and meal-plan text from your ingredients and preferences |
| Google Cloud Vision | Reading text from receipt photos you choose to scan |
| RevenueCat, Apple App Store, Google Play | Processing and validating subscriptions |
| Hosting & database (Render) and our vector database | Running the service and storing your account data |
| Error monitoring | Crash and error diagnostics |
| Google AdMob | Serving ads to free-tier users (may use your advertising identifier) |
Your ingredients and preferences are sent to OpenAI to produce recipes; per OpenAI's API terms, this data is not used to train their models.
We keep your account and activity data while your account is active. Receipt images are not retained after text extraction. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal, tax, or fraud-prevention obligations.
CurryMate is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
We use encryption in transit, authenticated access, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
CurryMate is operated from India and our providers may process data in other countries. By using the app you consent to such processing consistent with this policy.
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, in-app notice.
