CurryMate — Privacy Policy

CurryMate ("CurryMate", "we", "us") helps you turn the ingredients you already have into Indian home recipes, plan meals, and reduce food waste. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions: support@currymate.in.

1. Information we collect

We do not collect payment card numbers. Payments are handled by the platform app stores (Apple / Google) and our payment partners; we receive only a confirmation and status.

2. How your information is used

To generate and personalise recipes and meal plans; to run pantry, expiry-alert and receipt-scan features; to operate subscriptions; to send notifications you enable; to maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with law; and to diagnose and improve the service. On the free tier we show ads via Google AdMob (see Section 3); Premium removes them. We do not sell your personal information.

3. Service providers we share with

We share the minimum data needed with providers who process it on our behalf:

Your ingredients and preferences are sent to OpenAI to produce recipes; per OpenAI's API terms, this data is not used to train their models.

4. Data retention

We keep your account and activity data while your account is active. Receipt images are not retained after text extraction. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal, tax, or fraud-prevention obligations.

CurryMate is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit, authenticated access, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

8. International users

CurryMate is operated from India and our providers may process data in other countries. By using the app you consent to such processing consistent with this policy.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, in-app notice.

10. Contact & Grievance Officer

For privacy questions email support@currymate.in. Under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, you may also reach our Grievance Officer about content or conduct on the Service. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
